Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises During Crisis: Resilience, Coping and Insights

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 1st Annual International Hybrid Conference on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), scheduled to take place at Western Galilee College on June 30th, 2024. This year’s conference will focus on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises During Crisis: Resilience, Coping, and Insights, aiming to bring together researchers, academics, and industry experts to explore the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in times of crisis, as well as strategies for their recovery and sustainability.

About the Conference

The Conference on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises During Crisis: Resilience, Coping and Insights provides a unique platform for scholars and practitioners to share insights, research findings, and practical experiences related to the resilience and adaptability of SMEs during and after crises. We invite submissions that contribute to the understanding of various aspects of SMEs coping mechanisms, including but not limited to:

  1. Resilience Strategies: Examining the resilience strategies adopted by SMEs during economic, health, or environmental crises.
  2. Financial Management: Exploring financial management practices and challenges faced by SMEs in crisis situations.
  3. Innovation and Adaptation: Investigating how SMEs innovate and adapt their business models during and after crises.
  4. Government Support and Policies: Analysing the role of central and local governments support and policies in facilitating SME recovery.
  5. Supply Chain Resilience: Assessing the impact of disruptions on SMEs’ supply chains and strategies for building resilience.
  6. Digital Transformation: Understanding the role of digital technologies in aiding SMEs during and after crises.
  7. SME Owner Well-being: Examining the impact of crises on the well-being of SME employees and strategies for support.

Submission Guidelines

We invite the submission of original research papers, case studies, and practical insights that address the conference themes. Authors interested in presenting their work at the conference should submit their full papers or extended abstracts (preference given to full papers) by April 25th, 2024 using the Conference Email Address [email protected] .

Publication Opportunities

The organizing committee will undertake a comprehensive evaluation of submitted papers pertaining to emerging markets, with the objective of identifying exemplary scholarly contributions. From this pool of rigorously assessed manuscripts, the best papers demonstrating exceptional merit will be chosen for preferential treatment. The selected papers will undergo an expedited review process, thereby circumventing initial desk-rejection considerations. This distinguished opportunity is extended by the organizing committee to facilitate the accelerated dissemination of high-quality research in the International Journal of Emerging Markets.
